It is important for you to learn how driving traffic to your website works, not just with SEO but with it all in mind in general. Targeting your customer is very important.
I’d like to talk to you about CPA (cost per action) accounts. I’ve learned from entrepreneur, David Jenyns that they have special targeting features that can bring lots of traffic to your website. Take about $300-500 and run an ad for a week. Then see if the targeted traffic is converting or not.
Most of these CPA accounts have good tracking devises that you can put on your website to see who is buying and who isn’t. The real key here is getting these big companies on your side as your affiliate instead of paying them for the traffic they send to you.
This is where you pay them on a per sale basis. It’s only going work if you have your ducks in a row and can show these people that your product can sell with the traffic that is being given to you.
You do have to deal with a large amount of fraud with a CPA account. These people have other people from different countries that buy up your product then they turn around and ask you for a refund. Then you’re left with a big mess to clean up. This doesn’t go down with the bigger accounts, but it is harder for your offer to get accepted.
I had a large ISP provider that was selling banner advertising for about $10,000 to $20,000. I approached them with the idea of doing a per sale contract and they agreed. My banner was on their front page.
If you have a lot of internet marketing experience, try this exercise. What would you do differently if you had to start your business all over again from scratch? It’s fun to do. I test everything on my website. This is where I do split testing. You have to get special software on your website and you can find this stuff by doing a simple search on a search engine.
How can you get your searches down to a fine tooth comb? Many businesses get their niche targets down to an applied science. What is your targeted customer traffic? How many searches can you obtain each month and what is your competition like? When you try out paid media you can get shocked by the results.
This is what you’re dealing with in SEO. You begin with by getting your website indexed into the search engines, then you try to get it on the first page, after that you try to get the customer to click on the link, then opting into a mailing list you might have, then finally trying to figure out how to get them to buy. With driving traffic with a paid media account, you’d be surprised with how many steps you can cut out.
