Website Traffic, A Primer On Search Engine Optimization
I have 3 ways to obtaining free website traffic. The first thing I want to do is to social bookmark all my articles. Now I’m going to take the RSS feed and submit that to different directories. After I get this step done I write articles and post them to various blogging networks and article directories. The last step I’ll do is find higher ranking PR sites and get links from that site going back to mine.
Here are some things I learned from these Podcast Interviews. Some of these higher ranking websites, you’ll find that you might have to pay for the link, but that will be a good investment.
You want to always be marketing your website through off page optimization. Come up with a consistent plan and stick to it. Go to your keyword list and do some testing to see which keywords you should be using. Pay-per-click is a get way to test out to see if you can get traffic with the keywords you picked. Now create some content and submit those articles to the directories. Write your goals down on a piece of paper and stick to them.
The longer tailed keywords don’t have that much competition, so I’ll just bookmark them and submit one to two articles to a directory. When you submit your articles to a directory, people link directly to your site.
This might seem like a lot of work when you’re just starting out, but don’t skip these important steps. I suggest doing all this work yourself without outsourcing it first. When you do this you obtain an education on how everything works. If something can go wrong, it will. Then you’ll know how to deal with that situation. This is something you need to do before you outsource any of your own work.
When you are familiar with the job that you are doing, then you can veer out and find someone else to do this work for you. I’ve found that finding someone to do my link building for me is hard, because you’ll either get it right or you’ll get it wrong. If someone gets a comment wrong or they don’t link the text correctly, that is a post that is wasted. Start someone off doing a few things for you. This way you can view their work habits before making a big investment in that individual.
I find that the smaller things can be outsourced, but for some reason I have a really hard time finding someone to do my linking for me so I just do it all myself. Going the social bookmarking route and submitting articles to the directories have been really good for me. There are automatic services that you can sign up for but doing these steps outlined in this article is how I get most of my free website traffic.
